I got a new clown fairy wrasse about 2 weeks ago. Moved him directly into 60 gal reef tank that had only two clowns at the time. Clowns harrassed him, so he hid out for several days and I couldnt observe him eating. He began to swim erractically as if he had swim bladder problems. Moved him to a QT tank where he mainly lies on bottom breathing rapidly. I have tried to feed him live gutloaded brine shrimp, cyclopese, mysis, flakes with garlic, etc. On about the 8th day of a treatment with Artemiss for bacterial problems. No visible ich, parasites or anything. I'm amazed that he is still living, but there is no evidence of improvement. At what point is it more humane to have a quick mercy killing, rather than a long gradual decline? I realize this is a subjective question, but would appreciate some insight.
