Time for some new FTS

Grouperhead and lilfishy123,

I checked with my LFS and they said that the Goldflake came from Christmas Island.

Yeah I wish my rock was that clean and nice. Algae! The clown trig in that first pic looks fantastic, crisp yellow and black. Hell, I bet my fish would look better in a tank that nice as well.

What are your nitrate and phosphate levels? How do you maintain them?

Exactly what I want my hopefully new 280g(72x30x30) to look like. I am suprised that your bird wrasses have not eaten your cleaners like mine did.

Danorth,

I do weekly 10% water changes. Several months back, I added an in sump refugium with Caulerpa. I also use phosphate binder in filter socks in my sump. My nitrate levels were continuously less than 10ppm so I rarely check them anymore. I have very little nuisance algae growth on my glass which is a sign that my phospate levels are low.

Sounds like a pretty simple setup! What skimmer are you running? Are you running anything else equipment wise, denitrator, UV, ozone? With those fish, I can't believe your nitrates are so low and there is no algae! You have a very clean and gorgeous setup!

You would think that, however my phosphate is 1.5ppm, and I have practically no algae..... I clean the front glass every 1-2 weeks, and thats only "preventative" maintenance.

Absolutely stunning!!!! Great work!!! How is the aggression of the Clown Trigger? I have come close some many times to get one but then all of the horror stories came to mind. I would hate to see that beautiful Conspic or any of the others ripped to threads b/c the clown trigger had a bad day. Amazing stuff. So what are you considering to complete your stock list? Tim

tcmfish- the Conspic did have a little lymphocystis on its lip (I'm sure it is not trauma) which seems to be gradually improving

Tim- so far the clown trigger has shown no aggression to my other fishes. He has been growing very quickly so I am keeping a close eye on him. You never know when those guys can lose it.

Tim- my other possible fishes are a Gem Tang/New Caledonia Emporer/ Clarion or Clipperton Angel. Probably 2 of these. I had an New Caledonia Emporer before but I had to give it away because of severe aggression.

Love how you sneak in the Clipperton like it's no big deal!!! J/K :) Keep up the great work!! Oh one last question? What temp are you running at? Thanks! T

Tim, my chiller is set at 75 so the temp fluctuates between 74-76. I chose to keep it just a little cooler because of the Bandit Angel. My chiller has to do a fair amount of work to keep up with the pumps/lighting/uv etc. Unfortunately, that means a lot of hot air blown into my living room! I am definitely going to build a dedicated fish room behind my next tank.

Kirk- PM me if you are ever going to be in PV and want to drop by.
