Time to add a sump!

Has anyone added a sump to a Nanocube before?
If so, how did you do it? pics would help out heaps.

I was converting the three chambers into a fuge also, in the second chamber to be exact.

Where to plumb and what to use?
I want to use the sump for skimmer, chiller and as a pod factory.

Your advice would help heaps.

I just started a thread about this as well. I guess I'm not the only one who needs help with something like this. I will let you know if I hear anything.

Can't help with links to pictures, except this one, but, if I remember right, in Gallery here were pictures of nano-cube:
- way away from the wall, allowing addition behind the tank of the refugium, and, in turn, on the back of this refugium was hanged on skimmer (AquaRemora? the relatively flat square one), supported by the books;
- the other NC was, again, may be 2 ft/50 cm from the wall, left side facing the wall, behind NC was usual glass tank, drilled, slightly higher than the top of nano-cube; pipes from bulkheads entering chambers;
- same site, DIY, sticky thread something like "useful links", way dow to the bottom of the page, link to the tigaboy (if I remember right) NC with Fluval canister filter attached - the notches were cut in the back wall of NC (or in the lid?) to accomodate tubing, going back.
- and the weak spot of mine - same water level sump for the usual tank, the idea may be useful.
- for the sump under the undrilled tank could be needed overflow box ~ 4" clearance from the wall, hangs onto the back wall; if the space is less - then can be used PVC type of overflow, details are here and here. Look at the photos to evaluate suitability for the purpose.

I've got a 24g nanocube and just added a 30g refugium to it. I didn't want to drill the tank, so I opted to put a weir on the back of the tank, then plumbed it through the wall that the tank backs up to (leads to a big closet on the other side where everything is located). I used a 33G long tank, then put in dividers wade from acrylic to create a 3 chamber refugium and sump. The drain line heads into the skimmer section, which overflows into a central return pump section. The return line is split to deliver water back to the tank as well as the refugium, which makes up the 3rd section of the 33G tank.
It really wasn't all that tough to do after I got the details of the weir construction all figred out. Check out Mark Levenson's page at melevsreef.com for DIY instructions on building one. I'll probably have some pics of all of it soon.
