Time to get new bulbs

You guys were a big help when I purchased my 2X175 Halide retro kit. I have been using it for about 5 months and plan on replacing the bulbs soon. I had Ushio 10Ks and would like to know when you will have the 10KXMs in stock?

I have heard the 10kXMs are brighter than the Ushios, would you agree? Which appears less yellow?

What life span should I expect out of the XMs?

Hi Andrew,

You can generally get about a year out of most halide bulbs. Some exceptions might be 20K radium, seems to burn through it's spectrum faster, but Ushio and most major brands i think 12 months, changing sooner certainly wouldn't hurt, except the pocketbook.

The XM 10K appears to be a little brighter then Ushio and more clean white. I don't think Xm is the same quality as Ushio and doesn't have as good of a warranty, but looks wise i think you would be pretty happy. So far we have had very few problems with XM's, it's still a new to the market bulb though.
