Timeless1's 10 convert to NPS-Skimmerless

Hello All,

I have a 10 gallon and I'm in the middle of converting it to Full NPS. I have only had the tank up and running for about 1 year, and I have had my hand at many types of corals. I started out setting u a Salt water tank for my Daughter, but fell in love with all of the life that popped out of the LR, and Have not looked back since. I have had a mixed reef for about 9 months and everything was doing great. I got my first Sun coral colony about 51/2 months ago and I just love the color of these corals. Since my first colony I have gotten 3 more large colonies and fragged a few. I am currently not running a skimmer, sump, or Fuge, but do weekly water changes about 10-15%. I also don't test the water.lol, only Sality. My best key to success is my decicated time to the tank. I spend approximately 1 hour a day, feeding and watching, sometimes more, I have learned to live on a lot less sleep. Oh and I can't forget my secret weapon, my orange spotted goby..:) Her is my current stock list:
Orange Spotted Goby, Clown (False), A few blue legged hermit crabs, a few snails, Alantic Urchin, Peppermint shrimp, Sun coral colonies 4-80-120+ heads each, 3 heads of Dendro fista, 12-15 heads of Black sun coral, Chili Sponge, Rhizo, Rics, a few zoa, and GPS.

Here is a link to my tank build.

corals look very happy!

a little surprising considering there is no filtration other than the LR & water changes

I wouldn't have thought they could look so happy with no mech filtration

looking forward to see what others have to say about filtration in general

Hello fullmonti,

I do have a Rena Smart Filter with filter floss and I also run carbon, and Phosban. It does a really good job, I have to change the filter floss every week.
