Tiny Brittle Stars - Bad for Zoos?

So I have a smaller rock that used to be 100% covered with Zoos, now the zoos are starting to close up and I was wondering if those tinny brittle stars are aggravating them?

I can see at any given time 15-20arms waving out from the rock.

Should I dip the rock in a solution (if so what) in hopes to get some of those brittle stars out?

Correct me if I'm wrong, but those tiny brittle stars are harmless and wont actually grow to be full size ones?

Are they like these by chance?

If they are brittle stars and not the astria like the pic I posted then I wouldnt worry about them.

Yeah... I have plenty of brittle starts... They're good for your tank... Asterina's I'll pick out whenever I see them though... :)

No they are definitely brittle stars, they never come completely out of the rock though, just stick their arms out.

So doing a zoo dip would it hurt the stars?

THey shouldn't be an issue with your zoas, I have a bunch of them in my tank some about an inch big and they get down in between the polyps and have not caused any issues with my soanthids. Astrinas are another story......

is the star the pinkish blob in the center??? doesn't look like a brittle star to me. i might be looking at the wrong thing though. i have a couple different types of miniature brittle stars and they never hurt my corals. i actually bought them myself because i think they look cool. if the stars are inside like you say there is another pinkish thing on there that looks like a different type of star that can eat corals, specially sps type. i'm no marine biologist though.
