Tiny tube worms

All of my live rock is inundated with very tiny calcified Tube worms (pinkish-red in color but most covered in coralline algae on the rocks) They are about a centimeter long and emit an invisible string into the water column to capture particles, which it then reels in.
Well I witnessed one of these things tear the tip of a polyp off my Frogspawn and it disappear into its tube! So how much harm are these things capable of? I scraped them away from the rest of my LPS area..

they will iritate any coral that is next to them for sure. but the only way to kill them is to get the entire tube. otherwise they will just come right back.
