I took some sand home a couple weeks ago from the beach in Ft lauderdale. i just wanted to see what type of life was in the sand, didnt really see any copopod, but i saw many little worm things, if i disturbed the sand they would dart back down towards the sand and hide i guess, my questions is...

what are they, and has anyone tried to keep them in the aquarium? not even sure what they eat.

sorry to jack you thread but question about florida sand.

can you just scoop it up and put it in a tank? cause i want to do that with my 300g im going to start in a few months. or is it unsafe?

what is cool. put the sand in the tank.

it's ok that u jacked the thread,LOL

Of course you have to consider that the local sand may contain contaminates, not the least of which are suntan lotion, beer, and whoknowswhatelse. Good luck.
