what are these tiny yellow strings coming outta the zoos

i have them too... my aquarium friend said they are "wormy" creatures lol doesnt help much i know... maybe post a pict of them?

Most likely a cirratulid polychaete (hair worm), perhaps a terebellid. I fond them to be pests when it comes to zoanthids and have found them to be somewhat irritating to zoanthids. Here's an article for more info.

Based on your description my first guess would be mesenterial filaments. Its the corals digestive organs and many corals will stick them out in times of stress or defense
