Most likely a cirratulid polychaete (hair worm), perhaps a terebellid. I fond them to be pests when it comes to zoanthids and have found them to be somewhat irritating to zoanthids. Here's an article for more info.
Based on your description my first guess would be mesenterial filaments. Its the corals digestive organs and many corals will stick them out in times of stress or defense
