tips bleaching....

I picked up a couple of frags from a frag swap a couple of weeks ago. I placed them on the bottom until I found a spot where I wanted to put them (towards the top) and the tips started to bleach within two days. When they were on the bottom they seemed to be happy? I'm fairly new to the saltwater hobby especially SPS's.......so

Is TOO MUCH light to blame for the bleaching?
I've since moved them down, but will the tips recover?
What can I do to prevent this? I have several others I want to move up.

good chance they started to bleach unless you had an alk swing and the tips burned
because of that

move them back to the bottom and allow them to get use to your lighting them slowly raise them again...they should regain the color if your levels are in check
