Tips for Cubes? Lighting for 30G?

Will be changing from my scratched up 29 gallon to a shiny new 30 cube soon. What do you cube keepers use for lighting? Penant style? Also what size sumps do you use? 20" in each direction is pretty limiting. I have a ten gallon that I, as of now, plan to use.

The coralife aqualight pro should be nice. It clamps onto the back. 150 watts.

my sis has a 150w MH pendant, works great. as for the sump, they use a rubbermaid tub thing they found at walmart

I would use the 10g, I like to be able to see inside.

Well, I should have specified that I plan to build a refugium into the sump. So the sides need to not flex at all for the partitions.

That Coralife light is really nice but $$$$$!

Depends on what your corals your keeping? I have a 37g column tank (20x18x24) and I use a quad 96w PC fixture. I don't like halides all that much, and keep mainly softies, LPS, zoas and two clams (they are up high and doing great), no expensive twigs (SPS) for me!

Out of curiosity, why the opposition to MH?

As for lighting.....I just started a 30g cube and went with the Current 250wMH+4xT5's.

I have this light fixture and love it. This is very well built and has an elegant look. The reflectors are top notch and the ballast are all high quality. I like the way the T-5's are slanted back in. It helps keep the HQI glare out of your eyes!

I use a 20" Sunpod 150w HQI for my 33 gallon cube and its worked perfectly for me.
