What do you guys think for placement flow for this guy. Ive had this one quite a while now and cant get it to color up. Good growth but not so great color. Heres a not so great pic, its on the top left. Its hard to get a great pic cause its 3' back and its not very big.

If you're referring to the Tyree Elias Blue Stag, I have a colony of it and a mini colony, growing in completely different areas of my tank. One is near the top of the tank, under 10X54 T5HO. The other is actually near the bottom of the same tank. Both are getting a lot of variable flow. Both grow well and hold a very vibrant color.

BTW, your photo isn't showing up.

I guess Ill let it be for now then. Maybe it just needs some patience. Thanks Sid, it helps if I post the pic, LOL

Thats really nice. I saw it on your FS thread a few minutes ago too, your Oregon tort looks really nice as well.

which one is the sps in question? The small one on the right or the one on the left? I'm assuming the one on the right since the one on the left doesn't look like the blue stag.
IME, when they get more intense light, they will turn a very bright baby blue. The growth tips will be even more blue with a tinge of purple. Very small frags take time to encrust before they will start sprouting. Before then, they will just look green or teal. If you like green or teal, keep it in less light. If you prefer blue, then blast it with light.

Hi Robert, Its actually the one on the left. It has blue tips and has grown quite a bit but its the one coral I cant get to really color up. It was a lot more blue when I got it.

I have noticed, the tips are always blue. However, in less light, the lower portions of the coral will be more green than blue. To keep it all blue, yes, it needs more light.
