Tips of sps are bleaching

Should I shorten my photo period from 8 hours to 6-5 hours? My water is crystal clear, orp is in between 32-330 without ozone, or is my balbs changing on me. They are about six months old. Also could I been running to much flow? I am running about 7000 gallons an hour maybe a little more in a 90 gallon tank. Please Help. Thank you. Josh

is the temp in your tank stable through out the day and not going above say 83? 8hrs sounds fine also what type of lighting pc, vho, mogul, hqi?

its probably the new growth!

all my SPS's growths are whitened tips

You will usually see white tips at night when the SPS is growing the most. Can see them during the day but not as noticeable.

83 84 degrees shuld i get it down to 78 . running 130 watts pc actinic 10k mix and 110 t5 one 10k and one actinic , and two 250 watts of metal halide se one 20k and one 14k.

78'-80' is usually the highest you want to go. Drop temp slowly though.

will do, thank you very much.going to run pipes to the basement next week i have a old stone basement and it is very cool all year around that should help make the tank stable for the summer. thank you josh

I'd say it could likely be growth. Pics help tremendously. May want to put the sump/ fuge in the basement, get a chiller, or use a fan because merely running water through the pipes at a rapid rate may not cool the amount you need. Especially since its still only spring with warmer temps to come.
