tips on fragging VDM's

have heard really bad stories on colonies/ frags dying after fragging, any suggestions/ tips on avoiding this?

try finding the piece that sticking mostly off the frag and away from the main colony.... I usually only frag those.... lessens the chance of messing with other polyps.

BTW- My SVDMs are finally a colony again after 3-4 tries, I and won't frag. But will place an empty frag right beside the colony to allow it to grow on that.

also they don't need to be fragged to just melt on you..... they sometimes do that on their own.

I picked up a colony of 14 polyps and 2-3 days after I brought them home from the store they melted and Im left with 1 big polyp and 1 small one!

Its been 6 months now and theres still 1 big polyp and 1 small polyp :(

I leave mine all the way at the bottom and I don't touch or mess with them, now the large frag disk is now covered by SVDMs

I had a small frag of a few polyps.... grew a little, then just faded. Sometimes it's hit or miss. Just frag it if it looks like a clean easy frag... and know there's always a risk of them dying.

Darn Charles, still got them alive huh!? :P

Yeah bro, the whole frag disk ( not plug ) is covered now. I'm gonna stick an empty plug right beside it to have the polyps grow out to the new plug then cut the new plug away for a back up piece. We all know how these polyps can act and I won't take the change again the 4th time around.
