I have never tried trapping a fish using the acrylic traps and now want to remove this beautiful Mac Angel I got from MaxII. He is not misbehaving, but I want to add some clams and another anemone to this display and I don't trust him with them.

Any tips are appreciated.

If you have some room above the tank and your quick.... angels are pretty outgoing so if you can get it to come eat out of your hand, get a big net and nab it real quick once it comes up for some food that you hold with your other hand. That's how I've caught fish out of displays, never bothered with traps or had to catch that many.

This one is not tame at all....very shy. Even when I feed he stays down and darts in and out of the rock suspiciously. So, that method won't work in this case but I thank you for the advice.

Drop in a trap. Feed in the trap every day, no exceptions. He will eventually go in the trap.

IMO, traps NEVER fail.... the patience of the trapper is what fails.

Mac's are very smart, we had to drain some of the water and take some of the rock out, but that's because he needed to get out ASAP. Sounds like you have some time, I have had luck with a food trap but also a mirror trap. Putting a mirror at the end of the trap, the fish would rather attack its same kind then go after food.
