tissue color vs. polyp color

I save a browned out digi from a friends tank and it has been a few weeks and the skin is turning a nice green color with good p.e. but the polyps are still brown, is this something that takes more time? Or is this something affected by water or feeding?

sometimes the polyps have different colors. I have many pieces with blue polyps while its green/pink

white in pink corals and .... .

This one started off brown and brown.
