Does the pump input go in the nozzle in the exact middle of the reactor or the offset one? Do you not have to use a bag for the media also?

Zach, I don't own one (I have a Deltec) but I believe all reactors are about the same. Yes, the pump should pump the water to the bottom of the reactor, letting it flow back up thru the media and out the top (offset nozzle).

No to the media bag, it is a fluidized reactor which means the media is allowed to move around inside the reactor. The idea is to keep flow thru all the media, not just around it which is what happens quickly with media bags.

Yes, middle. Also don't use the bag, media goes directly into the reactor. Make sure none gets into the middle tube while filling it with media.

This reactor is easy to customise. for pipe use "funny pipe"(sprinkler section at HD)This pipe will connect to a maxi jet perfectly and to the output and input of the unit, they have elbows, t's, and many other connectors. You will also want to cut a thick peice of sponge for the top as the stock one is not enough(use scissors and get sponge from fish store, or online, for hole in middle use scissors to poke then stretch gently with fingers) I use mj 400 dailed way back, if it gets to loud dailed back them add a tee fitting with a small valve to let water into sump to relieve pressure. I think it may be best to tee off main pump depending on setup. Casey
