To acclimate a Longnose butterfly or not to???

Hey there...so I have a well established quarantine tank...sandbed, LR etc I run constantly...and a 90 gallon as well that is mature...I am looking into a longnose butterfly. Question...should I quarantine him or not? I am buying him from a very trusted guy I know who sells fish in great shape! And IF he goes straight into the 90 gallon he will be around UBER peaceful fish and LOTS of LR to hide etc...and as well a good pod population and a owner who knows how to feed a variety and work slowly with the fish etc...what you alls thoughts?

Play it safe. Quarantine that fish.

Well...what I didn't add and should have...is the quarantine tank is only 10 gallons...so my concern will be that if it feels cramped it will be stressed out...however I will buy a juvinille...

If it’s eating in the store it will most likely eat in your quarantine. Butterflies are prone to ich. I’d definitely QT. They are much easier than copperbands. I don’t think you’ll have a issue with it eating.

U just dont think even a juvenile will feel cramped up in a 10 gallon quarantine for 12 weeks (cycle of MOST ick strands)??? I just dont want to cause more stress by doing that

Well...I don't usually believe in treating something unless it give me cause to...2 questions? What medication/brand do u use to treat flukes? Iv never had to worry about them. Also...if I kept the fish in quarantine for a month or so wouldn't I notice the flukes? Or are they something that pop up later on???

I always use Prazi-Pro and I do treat all new fish no matter they are sick or not with this during the TTM process. IME, I have had flukes pop-up during this time frame. The fish may fight it if they are healthy, so you don't really see a true outbreak.
