To all the DIY'ers: need help....

Hey all.

I was thinking about building a canopy for a tank and I'd like to match it to the stand which has a laminate made to look like wood (but its easy to tell its laminate) of a dark oak color.

The link below shows my stand. It is the top one. Is it easy to match that look in a DIY project???
