To RODI or not

Many many many years ago I was running a 75 gl fish only salt tank on tap water with no problems. I wanted to know if anyone on the island is using tap water in there reef systems.

Get a ro filter best thing you will buy for your tank

Tap water is ok In fish only but on reef you need rod water

I used tap for the first two years of my reef. We have a very high fluoride level in our tap water and it never caused any issues or problems for me, I always de-chlorinated the water before I used it and treated it with a few diff products (honestly I can't remember what they were called. however after many long conversations with buddy's I switched to RO and noticed my fish did seem more active and the corals seemed to grow faster. Been over 3 years now and I would recommend RO to anyone. Just make sure if Ur getting it at a store the waters not too fishy or smelly

If yr not gonna use rodi in my opion dont eveen think about having a saltwater tank

REEF = RODI
Look for one in the used equipment forum if you have to.

I was planning on getting a RODI unit, I just wanted to know if someone was running a reef system on tap.
