In Memoriam
So it seems that I violated the rules again. I guess when a member post a Post that they are looking for a item, and a member responds to that post stating that you have what they are looking for that is a violation, even though I didn't start the post? And don't have enough post to even respond??

Isn't that being a little picky and then to delete some of my responses out of my profile because you didn't think they were
useful and then locking me out of my Private Messages?

Are you not invading into our privacy to write what we want about any subject, we have the freedom of free speech here in America.

And what would be even nicer if there was some sort of way to communicate with the Moderators to resolve situations like this rather than having no access to send the moderators a PM or the ability to even send e-mails, but now has to be done this way and i''m sure you will close my account out and delete this before you let other members read it and take into consideration the members rights of free speech.

Try showing a little respect for the Reef members in the future and don't treat us like common crimanls, there are no reasons to write sarcastic remarks in your responses, be professional about it.

Closed.
This is your second violation of our rules, third WILL be the charm.

We require 50 meaningful posts AND 90 days membership before you are eligible to use our resources to sell your items.

If you have questions about the new, probationary status of your account, email me my username@ReefCentral.com.

Actually you started a second selling post about 2 hours after Larry's initial warning and edit of your first selling post ;)

BTW the US Constitution's guarantee of free speech does not apply to private property and privately owned message boards such as Reef Central. Now that said, you are free to post on RC's guidelines and [ua].

As for email contact, most any moderator can be emailed using their username@reefcentral.com. That would also be the best way to continue any conversation on this matter ;)

Actually I did not, I responded to a post that a member was looking for Live Rock and replied that I had some for sale. Does that constitute starting a new post when you repsond?

And that email address when used gets returned.

All members are to have only one user name and are to post under that name exclusively. The moderators can, and will, remove the posting privileges of any person who does not wish to follow the rules, or in the opinion of the moderators is a detriment to the site.

So please tell me where I violated the terms of this User agreement?

It's ok for a member to respond to Buy and item that someone is selling in a post but not ok for a member to respond to a post that someone wants to buy and responding that you have that item for them.

So this is the violation?

If you can't start a thread to sell, why would you possibly think it's ok to sell in an ongoing thread? Selling is selling. You need to let this go.

FWIW the first post edit was a clue.

Umm....we're talking about how to reach a moderator...not how to talk to yourself.
So put the moderators name in there...i.e. mhurley[remove]@reefcentral.com or dgenr8[remove]@reefcentral.com.

As Bill pointed out that has no bearing on this situation. Ironically, the 1st Amendment is what gives us the Constitutional authority to determine was is, or isn't, appropriate content on this site.

Besides all of that, whether I agree with this policy or not, isn't the appropriate location for this type of question the "Feedback and Questions" forum? When I was new here and had a similar argument that's where I took it.....

You might want to check again, but the two posts that were edited and warnings left in place were actually started by you. In any event, even if those posts were selling in response to someone, they still would have been edited...so it's really a moot point.

BTW, Debi's advice to let this go is good advice. ;)

I can't check becasue my account has been shut off, and if I did post it was by accident but I don't remember posting a 2nd for sale after the 1st warning, where can i see that post?

Oh I'd agree with you, but this is where firm chose to post it.

Why dont you guys close this post and let it go. Firm just go write 50 post and get that done, and then wait for your 90 days to be up and your good to go. If you want to reply to someone about something they are wanting to buy send them a PM. That way you can sell them something and you get closer to your 50 count. lol

Where can i see this 2nd post that I posted as stated earlier? i don't recall posting it?

just let it go

Sorry, if I am going to be accused of doing something that I don't remember doing 3 days ago then I have every right to see what I did, so far none of the moderators want to show me what I did wrong?

Is this asking to much??

Is this asking to much??

Yes.

This is done. You can either walk away and follow the same rules that the other 200,000 users follow or you can keep arguing and find a new site.
