I am having problems with atoad stool that i have had for over 5 yrs he has not lifted himself upoff the bottom in weeks pollups are still out but hes hanging over and his truck at the base with the rock is yellow and he seems to be seperating from the rock

A pic would also help if possible.

If it is getting necrotic and rotting at the base, a coral dip and some surgery may be called for. With a clean razor, cut away any rotting tissue, and then place in a nice high flow area to help keep any further bacteria from gaining a foot hold.

Hmm... if the foot isn't actually rotting or falling apart, I'd hold off on cutting it. Give it lots of water flow and room and see what happens.

If it is falling apart, cut off the bad portions and attach it to another rock with super glue, rubberband, netting, etc.

I'd avoid attaching it to the same rock unless you can be sure you got rid of ALL the dying tissue.

ok i did cut him off the old rock and found that about an inch of the base was hard and yellow looking but was not actually rotting but was heading in that direction so i gently cut him away from the rock and cut the yellow hard part off his trunk and reatached him to a new rock and placed him in the refuge now should i give him lots of water flow?

As much flow as you can get away with while not blowing him loose from what you are trying to attach him too.

Ok I have a update on the leather 2 weeks after the operation and it is attaching himself inbetween 2 piece of live rock so he must be doing good anymore advise now will be helpful though
