Toadstool coming out at night...?

I currently have corner 92 gallon reef setup, and over the past year have been slowly adding various mushrooms, zoas and softies. Last week I added a roughly 3" diameter toadstool to the tank. My problem is that the toadstool will not extend its polyps till the lights are turned off. If the lights are on, only the polyps near the edges will start to come out. I know they need moderately high lighting so I'm kinda perplexed.

My water parameters stay in healthy limits, with Nitrates <5. As of two weeks ago I upgraded the lighting to 4 T5 bulbs at 35 watts a piece.

I have moved him around the tank, but had similar results. Currently he is situated one foot below the lights. Any suggestions? Hes starting to look worse as the days go by...

Don't move it. Find a spot you want it to be and leave it. Mine took about 3 weeks of not being moved around before it looked good. Mine now opens during the day, closes when the lights go out and opens up again in the night.
