hi guys, my toadstool still wont open and its been about 4-5 days now. iv'e read that shedding normally takes a couple of days. hes got good flow and light on him but should i think about moving him or would it make matters worse.

can you see the shiny surface/ the clear skin? my toadstool sometimes took about a week to shed. that's a very hardy coral. as long as it's not melting, not losing its shape, it's fine. wait a couple of days and see. if it still doesn't open, move it to another place. maybe it doesn't like the current location.

+1 :)

yeah looks the same.ok i'll give it to the end of the week then think about moving. he was opening and closing for 3 days after adding to the tank then just stopped. is there such a thing as to much flow on them

my toadstools really like flow. it's also easier for them to shed with the high flow. like i said above, if it doesn't open in a few days, move it to a new location and see. toadstools are really like that. you just need to have patience with them.

Mine also gets like that and it seems like it takes FOREVER for him to stop being cranky and then one day it just looks better than ever. Try not to fret...they are really easy keepers.
