Toadstool not opening up

I recently purchased a large toadstool from World of Pets. It also has a little one on the same rock. It has been in there for several days and opened once or twice. The small one is constantly open the other two toadstools that I have in there are also open but a different species. Is this something I should be concerned about? I have moved it to a higher place since I have pc and t5's in the tank but again the other toadstools are doing great. Ideas?

Here's a pic:

Here's another one in the same tank different species doing well:

Since you have only had it for a few days give it a bit longer. If the water parms are different from the LFS you bought it from it will take some time for it to adjust. Also could be if you didn't properly acclimate it to the new tank this could have affected it. What type of light was it under at the LFS. Although these corals can do ok under low light conditions they really thrive under bright light. I have mine under 15K halides. They should also be in a med to high flow area as they often produce a mucos covering to ride themselves of algae and detritus that accumules on the body so an area in your tank with good water movement is important too.

Yup. Leathers notoriously shrink up and stop showing polyps. I've got one I've had for nearly a decade that has gone years without 8 hours of polyp extension (that I saw, anyway). Then all of a sudden... Blow any slime algae that forms on them, and you should be fine. I don't generally worry too much until they develop black, necrotic looking slime.
