toadstool questions

first question is will a giant feather duster harm a toadstool if it touches it? secon is what woulod cause the flowery part of a toadstools polyps not open? the polyps are extended but the flowery tips are closed like a fist. water perameters are fine. ammonia-0 nitrite-0 nitrate-2.5 ph-8.3 alk-4 calcium-420 phos-0 spec gravity-1.026. it looks really healthy but i would like it to fully open. ive had it a couple months. it looked like this when i bought it but i was told it would open fully when it got settled.

Don't know about the featherduster, but likely not. Many factors contribute to toadstools strange polyp behavior. Could be that it's bothered by the featherduster or other in habitants etc..

the toadstool that is not opening its flowery tips is not near the featherduster. its all by itself. i should have said that before. the one by the featherduster will open fully for a few days then close and slime up for a few days. then it opens again. its done this several times in a row for the past month
