Toadstool Shrinking

I have a toadstool leather that has been in my tank for almost a year. Recently I lowered the flow rate in the corner of the tank that it is located in. Since then the toadstool has gotten smaller. The stalk has narrowed and the polyps haven't had any extension.

Will it re-acclimate to the lower flow or am I going to have to jack it back up again?

it might but i would re-up the flow. toadies aren't the most adaptable of corals.

while they're probably amongst the most durable of corals, with the most "fat" reserves, but adaptability isn't one of their strong suits imo.

I've had a beautifull successful toad for about one year now and had it front of a strong current from powerhead. It did well and grew in diameter with constant full "bloom". One month ago I had to completely take my tank apart to clean. All the rock and soft corals removed. When I reassembled, I tried to replace the toad in similar location as before but it is still not happy. Now it's constantly shedding, looks shrunk, bends over, and has only revealed polyps once. (it looks like the way you describe yours) I thought I was going to lose it!
But I can tell it is slowly coming around to being happy again. It is in lower flow than it was previously because I was unable to perfectly re-create the same location with lighting and flow.
It will take some time to come around but it def will. I agree it is extremely hardy.
:)
