Toadstool Trouble or not?????

I have just gotten started with living coral and I have a new toadstool that I am wondering about. At the reputable marine fish store that I use, the sarcoyton leather toadstool was open. We have had it for a couple of weeks now and it is yet to do anything other than straighten a bit and then hunker down again. I know nothing about these, but I have heard from inquiry that it goes through a shedding and it may be pouting from the move. Any Ideas?

Not really unusual for toadstool to go into like a dormant stage where they don't extend there polyps. Ive personally had a leather do this for over a month after moving it to a new tank. Leathers are pretty hardy and as long as it's not literally melting away I think u will be ok. My toadstool had this weird film over it and when it shed this film like a skin before it returned to normal. I would Syphon this film out as it starts to shed since i have read it may be harmful.

Leathers often close up in tanks with low flow or poor lighting. Leathers do best in med/high light and fairly high flow. Give them that and they are quite easy to keep.
