Toadstool with mushrooms

I've got a large toadstool(about a foot across) and the rock he is attached to is covered in mushrooms...so a two part question

Are the mushrooms touching it on its base affecting the toadstool

If I remove it from the rock how hard is it to get it to attach to another rock, and do I just yank on it or is there a better way to do it

Thanks

Same here. I have a smaller toadstool surrounded by mushrooms at the base. I believe it gives some shade for the mushrooms which they like.

The 'shrooms won't harm the toadstool. IMO, getting a full toadstool to reattach to another rock is a true pain, and though the risk is low, losing a toadstool a foot in diameter would be a disaster. Because of the low risk, you may still want to try it. I recommend pinning the base of the toadstool between two rocks. Or, you could just cut the head off, slice it like a pizza, thus giving the mushrooms more light. Or, you could just cut the toadstool off at the base, and another may grow back. Either way, your mushrooms, under the toadstool, may react badly to the sudden increase in light; I recommend reconsidering moving the toadstool.
http://www.garf.org/FRUGALREEFER/FRUGALSARC.shtml This is for if you want to just chop off the head and see what happens from there. The actual cutting part is about halfway down the page. Keep in mind that the toadstool's head will grow back.
If you do move or cut the toadstool, supplement with iodine.
IMO, leave the toadstool as it is. If you're worried about the mushrooms, cut the mushrooms' tops off and put them in a container with gravel, they'll attach within a month. And you'll have baby mushrooms! Good luck, keep us updated.

I have mushrooms and Zoa's growing under mine and no ill effects. I wouldn't take a chance on moving the toadstool unless it was absolutly necessary.
