In the past couple weeks i have been planning and started to build my 120g 48"x24"x24"..This not a new tank it belonged to a URS member that passed on this year and I was moor than happy to keep it in circulation..

The stand is homemade and serves no purpose than keeping lots of water off my wifes new carpet :love2:

As you can see in one of the pictures,my plumbing goes right through the wall into a spare bedroom(my fish supply room now) I will get into my sump setup soon..

I just have the basics up atm, tank and rock work..This tank is going to all LPS/Zoas and Palys

Here are a few pictures of what I have so far..

More to come....

I like the rocks, they look natural, like they fell that way. Is that a yellow polyp near the bottom, towards the left? It looks so lonely!

Thanks everyone..I'm really excited about this build

yep there are a few green button polyps on random rocks, all from one frag I got from Ben about six months ago, every place I put it a few polyps migrate onto the rock..

stout little buggers lol

rock stacks look so much better imo when you have a couple 20 pounders and a few 10's :)

Yay - fun build :)
I look forward to following along - the tentacly LPS corals will stand out beautifully on that sand.

I have been going back and forth about using black sand. I have heard that the black sand gets dirty easily. Keep me posted how it cleans up for you.

so far so good with the sand, but rock chips come off the live rock and do not look so great in the black sand, but I can live with that..

Small update..

I have my lighting where I like it right now,for the type of build I'm going for..

I have 6 t5 bulbs right now and 1 power compact actinic..

2 54 w giesemann power chrome white 6000k
2 54 w giesemann power chrome pure actinic blue
2 54 w giesemann power chrome darkblue 22000k

I also have my sump sorted out..It's a 40g breeder tank with 3 chambers, the middle being a fuge..

I am using a mag 9.5 for a return pump and a Octopus NWB-200 skimmer.
I am looking to make a rdsb in the future and also looking to hook up my reactors..Still lots to get and work on with the sump..

But what would a update be without and new pictures :)

Holy mother! Looks great man. Lots-o-frags. In a year thats gonna be insane!

hehe yep..too many lol..I have a frag tank most of those on the sand will go in,but it's empty atm :)looks messy now lol

should have seen my 40 breeder frag tank when all those corals lived in there lol

Tahitian Moon sand......Wish mine looked that good......mine looks like salt and pepper now.....:( but that was the original look I had and I still think it compliments the coral more than the substrate. Fantastic!!!!
