Todd's dual 120g build/progression thread..

After 1.5 years of trial and failure in many set-ups I've tried ( along with wasting mass amounts of money) I've finally gotten to a place I like in my reef keeping,as far as tank position and size goes..

I have two 120g tanks set up in my living room on two wall in a corner..I have a spare room next to the living room that I use as a sump/storage room for all stuff aquarium related..I use a 40g breeder as a sump that is shared by both systems.I also have a BRS RO/DI system set up in the basement that pumps water up to the sump room to a Brute can and a mixing tank(40 breeder)

One 120g has 48" T5 lighting for mostly LPS,zoas and sofies..The other 120g is for the most part all SPS tank with a 48" Hamilton Belize Sun lighting system that uses two t5 bulbs and two Phoenix 14000K 250w HQI bulbs on Hamilton M80 ballasts..

Other equipment I am using at this point(I am still upgrading as funds allow)

-- loads of Hydor Koralia power heads of all sizes in both tanks
-- each tank uses it's own mag 9.5 for a return
-- ACjr for PH and temp monitor
-- BRS dual reactor for carbon and GFO
-- finnex thermo-controller
-- two BRS 2 part dosing pumps( for two part)
-- Octopus NWB-200 skimmer (monster lol )
-- Aqua step-pro UV Sterilizer

More to come....

Nice looking LPS tank. The movement in that tank must look awesome especially with the Todd's sitting right up there center stage ;) Keep up the good work..

Thanks much Dave,That Todd's is turning into a monster on me lol..i love it..

here is the template I made the stands from.. both stands are 25"x25"x30" and are beefed up from that template by adding a couple more wood braces and plus every corner has a steel bracket screwed onto it..

my wife picked out some black fabric that is light and breathable to wrap the stands..

Pictures don't justify how nice that Torch is- the laminar flow from the Koralias really stretches those tentacles. :inlove: Looks awesome!

Looking good! I would move your pile of electrical stuff in your fish room off the floor in case you have a little water spill.

Thanks guys..Yep thats next on the list Chris,I need to make a nice box I can mount all that stuff in..I have it all on a bucket now though after my wife pointing that same thing out to me lol..

I think Those TT really shine when you have multiple heads..I got this one from Kien when it was a small two heads,It looked nice then..but the bigger it gets, I can not believe how nice its getting, I'm just in awe watching it grow.. It's just about 6 heads now..I might frag it when it hits 20 lol..BTW the hammer next to it is 20+heads :)

Nice tanks, makes me really miss having sand in the tank. Great stack. How is your TT growth rate?

pretty good...It grows way faster than the orange torch I have and even that other no name torch in the tank..I think it was March when i picked it up with two heads, now it has six,so 4 heads in 8 months.. I also feed it well :)

Your tanks look great Todd!

I totally agree on the TT. Mine is up to 3 heads and I couldn't bring myself to cut it. I can't wait for it to grow some more!

Great tanks Todd!!!

Re: the TT, how often and what do you feed it?

two times a week I spot feed it frozen mysis shrimp and two times a month, right at lights out I feed the whole tank through the sump with Reef Chili http://www.reefchili.com/ Dried zooplankton and phytoplankton..I am also pretty sure he swipes a few pellets from the fish lol

was a awesome reefing night..went to SWP and chatted with Joe and Tmz for a wile,Joe fragged me a piece of an awesome really bright green encrusting montipora that is in his display..Thanks so much joe :)

Then stopped over Brents place and picked up a ton of LE SPS..But the pleasure is chatting corals with Brent and just looking at corals..

you guys at the swap should buy up his frags, his mother colonies look so good..
