todstool ?

I have a new large todstool attached to 2 rocks i would like to romove one from base any addvice ... quick cut or peel off the foot??

Quick cut for sure. Tearing will leave a rough surface that is more likely to get infected. Just get a razor blade and make a quick cut along the shortest line you can.

I have done it both ways but I like to use my finger nail to gently peel it off the rock while under water if possible. Either way, try to keep a good amount of water flow around the open wound to help keep it clean for some time until it heals.

I wouldn't peel it. Try to slice it cleanly off of one rock. The possibility of the small stump growing into a second leather is much greater with a clean slice than a tear, and the trauma to the larger colony is much less.

And for sure, don't touch it with bare hands! Always wear gloves for this kinda stuff.
