Tom Aquatics Aqua Lifter for kalk

I have been using an mj600 for getting kalk from my reservoir to my sump. It has performed great but I am never using the last 2 inches of water in my reservoir and was thinking of using the Tom Aquatics Aqua Lifter pump.
CAN I use the aqua lifter in place of the mj600? How many people use the aqualifter with good result?

Works great for pumping kalk. I've been using Aqualifters for years. Just keep the pickup where it doesn't suck in the settled stuff on the bottom.

i also use an aqualifter.and like sjm817 said,you dont want the bottom slurry,or the film on the top as well.

im using a 5g salt bucket with a JG valve(quickxthr) about an 1-1/2" from bottom and the aqualifter is about 2" above the rim of bucket.

i like this pump as it delivers slow and i can even adjust output with the valve.you dont want to dump the kalk in fast.you want a nice steady drip.

get two, you will love it so much you will go looking for something else to use it for, and luckily, you will already have have it.
