Has anyone tried this new canister filter/ wet dry system or seen one in action? Wow, after having drilled too many glass/plex tanks to count and cleaned up countless syphin over flow wet/dry messes-this sure looks like a promising product!!! The only thing I am hung up on is how does it keep all the water from overflowing if the power surges off-how does this unit prevent a flood if it does use a syphin overflow? Plus how noisy is this...so many questions

Wow, Merry Christmas!!! Sent my husband to Marine Depot to pick up some dry goods and he brought this back, it was too large to hide under the tree so it's off to the water store for make-up water...this thing is amazing-it's so modular, I can't wait to hurl the Fluval 103 into the trash it is replacing...the filter is larger than the tank it is going on...It even has a top-off system, the designers thought of everything!!! The best part, flood proof-has a tight lid just like a canister filter...

Hate to tell you this now but I had one on my 38g and hated it! The skimmer is horrible and I had a few floods. Also watch the overflow, I had a ton of salt spray coming off of it and it ruined the wall behind the tank.

Floods and bad skimmer :( Maybe I can mod it, luckily I am only trying to keep seahorses and not corals so the skimmer only needs to work partially, but what a bummer-you expect to get what the product says it delivers! I am nervous about the floods as I had a drilled tank that leaked and caused a mold problem that was as stressful as it was expensive to fix (and my husband still lets me keep fish?!?!), that is the real problem for me...thanks for the heads up.
