Anyone ever seen a clown do this ?, Mine is moving pretty good quantities of sand around. He just bomb dives it causing quite a cloud of sand for a few seconds. Just started doing this, tank is 8 months old and all parameters are in check. He's just Pi**ing me off, I'm trying to keep my DSB alone, other than the sand sifting star and snails I have.

its a she, and she is just tidying up a nesting site.. natural behavior, get used to it. If it gets really annoying perhaps a piece of tile where she has decided her nest will be will help offset this.

agreed with marduc. This is perfectly normal. My female black ocellaris does this LOTS...well not so much anymore that she's fixed it up a bit, but every now and then she'll still do it. She's got a big toadstool leather that she hosts in and she'll kick all the sand out from under it (the toadstool is kinda pointing sideways, out towards the front glass and one of the edges tends to sag almost to the sand...she keeps it from hitting the sand i guess)

I wouldnt worry bout it. Just wait it out and she should stop for the most part.

mine do it everytime she lays eggs, which is about once a month. its in a different place around the bottom of a 10" PBTA, sometimes she lays them on the rocks beside it, and the male still fans the sand. thats why they call em clowns i guess.
:D how can you be p****d at a clown? :D
JDM

I'm ordering her a BTA tomorrow...I just pray to the gods that she hosts in it. I know it's definately a female though, very dark colored body with only the bright red on her face and fins.
