tomato clowns

I think the general impression is that tomato clowns are in the middle in temperament. More aggressive than you perculas and less than your maroon clowns. I have kept a pair for 7 months in my 34 gallon aquarium and they have been model citizens. The only aggression I have seen is when the female chases the male away from food. I read about clown fishes feeding their anemones and have witnessed this with my female maroon (don't worry, different tank). I have yet to see this with my tomato clowns. They eat everything in site and would take the food away from my anemone if I let them. Of course, they think it's their anemone, lol.

Tomato clowns are one of my favorites, however due to the size restrictions on tanks in my residence hall I haven't had a pair. They're on my list for when I've got a decent place of my own and can set up the 90+ that I've been dreaming about...hehe

Like any other clown it's my understanding that they can be territorial and aggressive, but like any other clown they'll be fine if kept with appropriate tank mates.

had a pair kill one of my firefish...would recommend on adding the tomato or any known aggressive fish last...brought them small like a 1 inch and grown to almost 4 inches...get very aggressive as they get older especially if they are the first one in the tank...

now the pair of tomato is bullying my pair of mandrain for a year now but no harm so far because the mandrain fights back :)
