Tomini tang suggestions?

I have been thinking about adding the tomini tang to my tank. I have seen some pics of them on the web, but we all know how they can look better than the fish we get from ou lfs. Do any of you have one that you can post pics and what kind of temperment do they have and any other thing you would like to add about the fish.:rolleye1:

Got one about a week ago and so far he seems a bit skittish. Eats all kinds of food and when I sneak in to see him he is swimming with all my other fish and seems friendly with them.

I think that a Tomni Tang would be a great reef inhabitant. All of the bristletooth tangs are very friendly usually. They love Sushi Nori wrapper!

Have had one about 2 months. Great fish in a reef tank. Big chicken:D Definitely add him first if you are going to have multible tangs in your tank.

the other tang in my tank is a small hippo

You should be fine. Small hippos are typically not too aggressive. They should be fine together.

The tang is about 3in now. Still hides out when I go in the room but he comes back out as long as I make no quick movement. It's funny because I have 2 dogs a Wolf and a Husky and the tang seems to not care when they go in or run by the tank just people make him hide. I hope it keeps the colors the one they have on liveaquaria looks nothing like the one I have or any I have seen on the web.

I have seen the one on live aquaria and kind of wondered if someone had one that looked like that or if those colors come as they get older or is it just work of photo editing

I've seen these at many of my LFS and they live up to their pictures. All the healthy ones I've seen look as good if not better the the pics on the web.

There is one at my LFS in Sacramento that they have mis-identified it as an "asst. tang" and are selling it for $25.99. If I didn't already have a fully stocked tank (or if I had a bigger tank), I would for sure jump on it. It's about an inch and half long, and for the few minutes I watched it, it was grazing on the sand and rock. Awesome looking fish, if anyone reading this lives in Sac. area, the tomini is @ Pet Club on Bond Road.

Is there anyone else with any pics?
Here is a shot of mine. Not the best picture though. I'll try to get a couple of other ones for you.

I've had mine for about 3 years now... survived a move and upgrade... one of the most aggresive tangs when it comes to new additions... I love this fish though... rare to find an oddball tang that doesn't cost a fortune... after a few months he became quite bold and has never looked back. He feeds right from my hands and turkey baster... benefits from all the dither fish I have in this respect. Really no special care required for these guys... I'll shut up and post pics from feeding time:D

Spread in the center...

An actinic shot with flash... you could see him with his lips at the turkey baster...
