Tomoko's new 180

Hi y'all,

My 180 is here finally!! I was installed in my front room in the opposite wall to my current 120. The whole setup was built by OCEA Aquarium - tank, stand, canopy, and matching bookcases.

Here's the picture of the tank and bookcases:

I am very pleased with the way the set up turned out. Ocea did a wonderful job, don't you think? The tank is great and the canopy, stand, and the bookcases are made so well, too.

So now the real work begins.

I will be plumbing the tank and installing Lumen Bright light fixtures next. I have to install 4" fans in the canopy as well.

When I am done moving my corals and rocks to my new 180 from the current 120, I will be selling my 120 set up. Tank, stand and Aqua Medic pendant light fixture (250 MH x 2). I will also sell my old 29 gallon set up as well (tank, stand, 20L sump, and canopy.)

I will place my calcium reactor (rather big) and CO2 cylinder. I will also like to put my auto top off reservoir as well. They will fill up the room. I am contemplating about placing my green water setup inside the bookcase cabinet.

Congratulations Tomoko, that is one spectacular setup. We've also bought from Ocea and you are correct, they do excellent work.

Looks really great Tomoko, but I almost hate to see you tear down the 120. It's virtually TOTM quality. Just beautiful. But I know you'll probably top it with the 180. Good luck, and if you need help be sure to call Will or Harry or somebody other than me

Thank you guys and thank you Mariner for the wonderful compliment on my 120.

Progress will be slow since I work on the tank primarily on weekends. I am afraid that I'd be making many trips to Lowes and Home Depot, too.

An error number one - I thought that the bulkhead sizes were 3/4 and 1 inch. Well, they turned out to be 1 and 1-1/2. I had to find it the hard way... after buying all the fittings and pipes . A frantic call to H@rry confirmed that the bulkhead fittings on his 180G tanks are 1 inch and 1-1/2 inch fittings, too. Back to Lowes again . I am glad that I did not cut all the pipes up or glued all the fittings yet.

I wonder what's next... At least I did not melt the bulkheads with glue this time (like I did with 120 some years ago .)

Looks great Tomoko, Congrats. Its better to have the tank drilled for larger bulkheads anyway. 3/4 bulks aren't good for much.

Will
