Finally ready to make the switch over to the new tank! Not 100% thrilled with my water (still cloudy) so gonna run a ton of carbon and filter socks overnight to clear things up.

Thats when I use a diatom filter, Magnum 350. With so much volume it would still take a while to clear up but would be much faster than not having using one.

I thought about running one. However, given the volume, felt it would tank forever. Right now I have the dart wide open through the tank. With head loss I am guessing I am somewhere in the neighborhood of 3000gph through the display. I figure at that flow rate, if I swap filter socks every couple hours things should clear up quicker.

I have an old one in my garage....where do you buy the media for it, Zach?

There are some LFS that carry diatom but I believe you can get it at any pool supply store. As far as one taking a long time on a tank that size thats very true but an overnight run would cycle the tank a couple of times and do quite a bit of good, running a couple would be great. If I lived closer Id be happy to donate mine for a while.

The move was a success. Thank Sean and Mike! Its been a lllllooonnnggg couple of days but its coming together. Here's some initial pics. I'll post more once the water clears.

Fantastic job. I really like the aqua scaping you did. It will be fun to watch this one fill in. Please keep with the updates!

The tank looks awesome Jeff. I am sorry I couldn't be there to help you out with the tank move. Are you in town this week?

Looking great Jeff ,,,,,, now you need to jump in on this NYAquatics buy and get some nice 9 dollar Anthis for that monster. About 5-7 would be perfect in there , they have real nice colors to them
