How is the tank coming along?

I am ordering the following from Mark at www.thereefstop.com the end of this week:

4-bulb, 46" Icecap VHO retro kit with all actinic bulbs

4 Ushio 175 watt 10K metal halide bulbs

8 Sunlight Supply extension cords with plugs

2 Icecap extension harnesses

4 Lumenbright mini pendants

1 Panworld 100PX-MD40R to feed skimmer

1 Oceanrunner 2500 to feed calcium reactor

After I wire all the pendants into the canopy and add the extension cords to all of my metal halides, I will clean the tanks really good and then add the sand and saltwater.

I still need to work on the trimwork around the tanks for finishing touches and tie up some loose ends, but the tanks will be running in the meantime.

I am going to store RODI and pre-mixed saltwater in two of these

I will need to setup some plumbing & electrical from these tanks to my fishroom for ease of use. I also need to buy some bulk carbon, saltmix and phosphate remover as well.

Thats great to hear your getting close! I bet that you could make that Fiji look pretty nice with a hammer and chisel, or a drill with a big nasty shaped bit.

The freight on those tanks cost almost as much as the tank itself. They're nice though. Do you have a local source to save on shipping?

Looks like some nice rock Dave.

Thanks, John. I think when I mix it up with some of the more shapely rocks out there it will look really good. I went with Fiji initially because it was the cheapest rock I could find and really offers very good biodiversity...just a little too round:D

Apparently, my rock was supposed to come a week before it did, but got bumped for a TUNA ORDER:rolleyes: The next week they sent my rock, but it turns out it was NOT the rock that the guy had specially set aside for me:( I had been corresponding with Mitch for over two years about the rock purchase and quality of the Fiji rock flown in versus boat rock commonly seen in the trade.

Mitch has been very accomodating trying to get me satisfied and this box of Fusion while not the end-all cure, was definitely a nice gesture. He even offered to put it up on his website to sell for me and I could ship it...but that is too much trouble. All things considered, he has really went out of his way to make things right and I would recommend him as one of the good guys.

I saw some water holding tanks at charles farm that looked pretty close to those.

Any idea how many gallons they hold and how much they costed?

That's some super nice rock, definitely more live than what I have at this particular moment, but hopefully my rock will get to where yours is at relatively quickly. That's pretty spiffy that your rock got a "first class" flight to your house in order for it to stay fresh :)

I dunno I got a big piece of that rock from him i wanted to break apart for a nano and though i did it, I went through two chisel's and a hammer before it cracked into a few different pieces.

Where you using a "cold" chisel?

Mitch ships all of his rock that way (direct ship). Livestockusa has some very nice rock that comes in, I really liked mine.

Now if I could just convince the wife to let me order corals... I have not seen any of them, but Mitch says on the website that his corals will be baseball to softball size pieces. Prices are nice too...
