Tongan Nassarius Snail question

I've read about there TNS coming out in day time during feeding but mines never come out... ONLY at night time.. when I drop pellets for them or kill a hitchhicker crab and leave it for them to eat... and there out in a couple of seconds....

but never comeout when the lights are out.... Ive seen them out in fish stores out and about when the lights are on.. but never mine's.

IMO, nassarius snails are smart. When I first got them, they started to come out right after every feeding. But as time went by, they stopped coming out. And like you said, only when you drop pellets or hitchhiker crab or in my case, the molt of a shrimp/crab. So here's my theory why. After each feeding, they sense it, but don't get anything in return, because the fish ate them all. So they realize, I'm not wasting my time to come out and search for food and get nada

Or maybe, they don't eat every day or so and they become weak, so they don't have the strength to come out. Only when they're sure it's food for THEM! Just my two cents.
