Tongue coral help / and one other question

No. 1 - any thoughts on why my tongue coral is pulling away from it's skeleton? I am an experienced reef keeper and my water parameters are in check - my sps, other lps, and even the ol' water meter xenia is thriving, but I can't seem to figure out what is causing my tongue to do this!

No. 2 - What the hell are my calustrea doing here?!

Is it possible the two polyps are munching on the same piece of food? Or one is releasing some sort of waste and the othe is trying to eat it ! Grotesque!

Sorry ,never had a tongue! Was it ever pressed up against a rock ? I heard they can move around on their own!

The recession of the tissue has stopped on my tongue coral. Never touched glass, or rock, so I am still unsure of the cause. It occured quickly but didn't progress. My water quality isn't an issue, so maybe a crab or fish munched on the side of it.

And yeah, it does tend to move 1/2" on way or the other from time to time.

As far as the candy canes, I have NEVER seen anything like that before - it seemed as though it was an organ or physical part of one of the heads.

Thnx for the reply and help!
