tongue/slipper coral receding

Mangodude

The Clown Tang Keeper!
as title says, I've got a 5 inch green slipper coral that's been receding over the last week. Only receding in certain parts while others parts look great. I've had it for a lil over a month and it did fine until the past week. I haven't moved it, changed lights, anything. It hasn't been covered by sand.. nothing..

any ideas?

pictures as soon as I can..

do you target feed it ? My tongue coral did the same thing. I could see tissue receding and see the calcium skeleton slightly in spots. As soon as I started target feeding it mysis once or twice a week it is fine after a week or two. Now it is twice the size and nice and puffy.

hmm I haven't tried that yet.. i'll do that tonight and let you know how it goes.

Thanks for responding! :D

look at the alkalinity-Mg-Ca cycle and be carefull with sharp changes in the P concentration or the use of Al based resins to reduce phosphates
