I bought a couple of clams while i was home in Houston, i brought them back over an 8 hr drive. This morning i woke up and this clam was laying on its side. It does not respond to light, or me touching it. It looks like its foot has receeded into its shell. I would really appreciate any help.

it doesnt look gone to me yet, just stressed. put it somewhere stable, give it bright light, and see what happens over the next few days. if the shell open really wide, and the mantle stays withdrawn in the shell- it is on its way out.

i'd say its a crocea with that big byssal opening. what type of light do you have? it looks like the pics where taken at night?

Well the clam didnt make it. It has started pealing off the inside of the shell. Looks like i am going to have to get it out of the tank before it starts to cause a problem
