Too many zoas for SPS?

I have an elos 120xl which has been going strong for the past couple of years with lots SPS. I also have a large amount of Zoas in my tank--tons.

In the past 3-4 months my SPS have been dying off. All from the base and incredibly fast. It's very frustrating as all of my parameters are rock solid. I've had numerous peers come over to troubleshoot my tank, and nobody can find anything that should be causing this (pests, chemistry swings, stray voltage, old bulbs, etc).

It dawned on me today that I have a pretty exceptional amount of Zoas and I'm wondering if anyone has heard of large amounts of Zoas having an impact on SPS. Maybe there is a chemical warfare that takes place between the two?

Any thoughts would be much appreciated!

I have a ORA green birdsnest that is resting in a nice bed of zoas and palys with no issue at all.
