Too much flow for Clowns to rest?

Hi,
I have a 3 year old 29g eclipse reef with 2 clowns. I needed more surface movement so I removed my smaller powerhead today and replaced with a maxi1200 in the corner top of the tank for a bit stronger flow. There are 2 movable outflows built into the tank design. I am wondering if it is too strong for the clowns. With all the added water movement now , it seems the clowns can not find a quiet spot for the night time.
Do the clowns need a calm and quiet spot near the surface to feel safe at night ? Or will they eventulally finds a new space to hang out that is less turbulent until daybreak or the lights go on?
Thankyou!.....I (and my critters)really appreciate RC and all its help.

they are fine they will find a spot
the flow in a 29 can not compare to the natural reef also the amount of flow you have does not seem too hard

I have a 29 that has 5 maxijets in it. 3 900's and 2 1200's. My clown sleeps in his anemone alright. I'm sure your return and 1 power head is fine for him.

i have a maxi 1200, a penguin 550, and a powerfilter and skimmer hang on tank in a 29g... my clowns deal with the flow fine. when i first added the maxijet they seemed to get blown around and kinda looked stressed out. after a few days though they were ajusted and surfing through the flow of the maxijet.

illcssd... is that 29g bare bottom?? im considering adding more flow and was thinking it would kick up the sand to much.

Nope, not bare bottom, has about 3 inches of sand, i Hate the look of bare bottom personally and would never do it. Its all about placement of the powerheads, basically anywhere but pointed down lol.

I think i would be thread stealing to post pictures here. I will try and take some new ones when the lights come on tommorow. Maybe i will post them in a new thread or something, this is megret's thread after all. Not my anemone tank thread.
