i have a 60 gal tank and my mag 7 is putting the water level to high. I have 2 1" bulkhead drains Can i dial down the pump? or should i make bigger bulkheads?

Better to T-off your return line with a valve (gate or ball) and divert the flow back into the sump, or into a refugium. There should be no way that your two drains can't keep up with a mag 7 though.... you must have blocked the drain somehow.

I have a 46 gallon with a mag 7 and 1 drain, and have no problems at all. 2 drains should have no problem keeping up with a mag7.Like shag said something must be blocked.

Just install a valve on the discharge side of the pump. What people don't understand about recycling water back into the sump is the pump still draws maximum wattage since it is still doing maximum work. When you reduce the flow your reduce the amount of work it is doing which in turn lowers the power consumption. It also leads to higher heat generation and higher power bills. Valving the discharge wil not harm the pump at all, in fact most pumps are more efficient with a small amount of head on them.
