too much flow?

hey guys,

it was recommended that i get 4 koralia #4sfor my 150gal tank. i ended up getting 2 koralia #4s and 2 maxijet 1200s with sureflow kits hooked up to a wavemaker.

the good:
the sand is alot whiter and the flow seemed to eliminate alot of dead spots.

the bad:
some of the corals and anemones seem to close up and hide from the flow.

i should note that my tank is 4 feet wide and about 26 inches tall. it isn't the long type tanks but more a show tank.

i have the two koralias in the back pointing towards opposite sides in the front bouncing off the front of the glass. i have the maxi's on the sides of the tank pointing towards the other side. one is closer to the back of the tank...the other is closer to the front so the streams aren't directly colliding.

i've been told you can't have too much flow. i guess something isn't right because my anemones seem affected (one closed up for a few days) and the other (which seemed in a happy spot) moved into hiding.

anyone have any input on this? also maybe a suggestion of how i should set these up? i was thinking about putting two in the back behind the rock to elminate any dead spots back there but i don't want to redo my rockscape just yet.

thanks!

You can have too much direct flow. If your corals are closed they aren't happy... move them, change the flow direction, or lower the flow.

I would start with one and work your way up. Try one for a few days then turn on the second for a few days. I have no power heads in my tank just two returns divided into two. I`m running a mag 24 from my sump to my tank. My tank is a 144 half circle it seems to work well!
