got a 30 gallon tank, 36" long, think a 96 watt actinic and 2 36" NO t-5's is too much light? or not enough...this is actually just a holding tank til i get my 75 set up again...

i have mines in a 20 gallon long with 175 watt and t5 for attinic and they are fine. so i think you should be ok.

ok, should be fine then...dunno if i wanna get a t-5 HO so that way ill just have one light up there, but again its only temporary so we will see. thanks ktar!!

Mine are in a 58 gal (10" to 20" deep) with two 250W HQI and four 39W actinics. Lots of light and they are all doing great.

im getting a 36" HO T-5 by current to put on the tank for now, like 100 bucks but im just gonna get it and be done with it...

Okay the lighting I recommend is T-5s, or VHOs. But they can handle a metal halide. They tend to color up better under like VHOs and T-5s. We keep ours here in a 120 (48x24x24) with 2x 400w 20k Hamilton Metal Halides. But we keep them mostly at the bottom to the middle of the tank. Too much light on acans they can bleach or their color will faint. They get a bolder color under something like VHOs or T-5s. If you have halides put them lower.
