Took some photos today

Ok, since there's been 50 views with no one saying I'll tell you my thoughts, but know, I don't shoot people, so take this with a grain of "salt".

I don't know what camera you're using, but the pics seem over exposed and lack a little contrast. From the looks of them, it was a sunny day, and that will cause that. There's also quite a few shadows. If they are consistent that can be fine, but ther aren't.

They really aren't bad and there's a few things that could be done in photoshop that would help. I like the first one the best. It has the best feeling, but there's shadows under her right eye, (left eye as I'm facing it). Remember the eyes is where most will go when first looking. She does have beautiful eyes. You can also see where the bright light blew it out next to her hand. I think I would have went with a different apt though. Either way, blurring it out more or bringing the entire backround in focus, but that's just me. I also didn't look at the rest of the shoot, but I will later.

Not a person photographer either, but I do enjoy looking at other people's people pictures sometimes. You should take a look at the "Photo on the net" site (Canon forums), they have an entire thread section on "People". Not only will you get a lot of feedback there you'll get to see a lot of other work. That might help you refine what styles you like and what you don't. A great way to start is just looking at other stuff and seeing what images you like and the figuring out what it is that you like about.

As for these images I agree they look little overexposed (easy to fix if you shot in RAW). I looked at the other images too. I concur with Jesses that I like the first one posted here the best. It has the best composition and feels balanced. The others don't share that same feeling (for me). The last one posted to me has the best background, and even then you might want to consider cloning out that tree trunk on the right. The other backgrounds are very busy, with lots of bright areas and business that pull your attention away from the subject. I have also found when taking people pics, I always get my best shots snapping in between the persons actual poses. Horse around with them trying to make them laugh or smile. These images look a little stiff and posed to me. Don't take this as me being critical in a negative way. At the end of the day it's all about what you and her think about them. The only way to learn is to get out there and do it.
